The culmination of 13 years hard work, contributed to by parents, family, friends, and an untold number of teachers over this time, the VCE results achieved by all students is something of which we are immensely proud.
Of the 128 students who undertook VCE, 99% were awarded a VCE certificate (with one student withdrawing mid-year) and the 8 students who selected the Vocational Major Certificate were also successful.
The Dux for 2024 is College Captain, Devmi Peiris with an ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) of 99.35.
This year, she undertook five Year 12 subjects, studying Accounting, Economics, English, Mathematical Methods and Specialist Maths while in 2023, she successfully completed Year 12 Psychology.
Devmi is hoping to go to Melbourne University to study Commerce.
There was one Year 11 student who achieved perfect study score of 50 in Year 12 General Mathematics.
A further 29 study scores of 40 or above were achieved in Accounting (1), Economics (1), English (12), Food Studies (1), Health and Human Development (1), Literature (1) General Mathematics (4) Psychology (2), Sociology (3), Theatre Studies (1) and Visual Communication Design (2).
We congratulate 11 students who received an ATAR above 90, placing them in the top 10% of VCE students in the state.
While ATAR scores capture academic achievement, the diverse skills and experiences students gain in school are equally valuable.
It is not possible to quantify other essential aspects of school life; building relationships, teamwork in co-curricular activities, and leadership skills in group projects, all teach students how to work with others, handle challenges, and navigate social dynamics.
Qualities like creativity, adaptability, resilience, and emotional intelligence, which are crucial for future success, are not measured by the ATAR but are just as important.
