Christmas Messages 2024

As we close another school year, we should all be filled with gratitude and pride for the accomplishments, growth, and memories.  This year has been a journey of learning and community—one that highlights the dedication of our students, families, and staff.

This year, we witnessed remarkable achievements, both inside and outside the classroom. From curriculum based activities to co-curricular there have been many opportunities to share learning and growth.  Students have been involved in community service projects, our students have truly embodied our school values of compassion, kindness, respect, honesty and excellence.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our teachers and staff for their unwavering dedication to nurturing our students’ potential. Parents and guardians, your support at home and in our school events has been invaluable. Together, we’ve created a vibrant and supportive community where our students can thrive.

As we transition into the holidays continue exploring, creating, and learning. Whether through summer reading challenges, family trips, or simply enjoying time outdoors, the opportunities to grow never stop.

I wish to sincerely thank the following staff for their contributions to Aitken College and their years of dedicated service, whether they are retiring, moving on to new adventures, or are at the end of their contracts with us: Jennifer Dean, Sue Matthews, Brook Marsom, Niel Wrigglesworth, Mary Ann Di Martino, Vince Perri, Elise Zijai, Peter Francey, Stephanie Abela, Tabitha Herd, Bethany Nicholls, Ron Rees, Aysel Saglam, Angie Thomas, Mirella Zalakos.

I wish them the best of luck in whatever comes next and hope that they will remember and support Aitken College as our staff alumni.

Finally, as we approach the holidays, we wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a joyful New Year. May this season bring joy, peace, love and hope to your families.

A Christmas message from Rev David Fotheringham, Moderator, Uniting Church in Australia, Synod of Victoria and Tasmania.
