At Aitken College, science education is an exhilarating journey of exploration, discovery, and hands-on learning. From Primary to Secondary, our science curriculum is designed to ignite curiosity, foster critical thinking, and inspire a lifelong passion for scientific inquiry.
In Years 7 to 10, students embark on an exciting adventure through the realms of biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science. Each subject is brought to life through engaging practical experiments, captivating demonstrations, and interactive activities that make learning both fun and meaningful. From dissections to exploring the wonders of chemical reactions, students dive into the fascinating world of science with enthusiasm and curiosity.
Students roll up their sleeves and dive into experiments, conducting student design investigations, collecting data, and analysing results like true scientists. They learn to communicate their findings effectively through comprehensive reports, presentations, and scientific posters.
But the excitement doesn't end there! Our science program is enriched with a variety of extracurricular opportunities, including science clubs, excursions, and even a thrilling Family Science Night where secondary students create science activities to share it with the extended Aitken community.
As students progress to the VCE curriculum, which offers Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology and Environmental Science, the adventure continues with an even deeper exploration of scientific concepts and principles. Our VCE science courses are designed to challenge and inspire students, preparing them for success in their future academic and professional endeavours.
At Aitken College, science education is more than just memorizing facts and figures—it's about cultivating a spirit of curiosity, inquiry, and innovation that will empower students to tackle the challenges of tomorrow's world with confidence and creativity.
