2024 Musical

After months of rehearsals, the cast, band and crew of Disney's The Little Mermaid are primed and ready to entertain audiences from tonight with performances continuing until 2 August.

One of the largest College events of the school year brings together over 100 students in on stage, band and behind the scenes roles, with the support of more than 30 staff.

This year, we are pleased to be presenting Disney's The Little Mermaid, loosely based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairytale which first appeared around 1837.

The story follows Ariel, a young mermaid who yearns for life on land and falls in love with a

human prince. Through her journey, the musical explores themes of identity, sacrifice, and the pursuit of dreams. The universal appeal of the story resonates with audiences of all ages, reminding us of the power of love, courage, and self-discovery.

The production features many of the well-known songs including Under The Sea and Part of Your World along with the characters you know and love (or love to hate); Ariel, Prince Eric, King Triton, the cheeky crab, Sebastian and the evil Ursula.

This production also boasts some incredible sets, lighting and amazing costumes by the talented Mrs Gail Sims. Ursula's costume is worth coming to see alone.

Direction has been in the hands of the Head of Performing Arts, Mr Jevon Scandrett with Music Co-ordinator, Mr Victor Brincat wielding the baton over a great 20-piece band made up primarily of students.
