Physical Education is an integral part of the educational experience at Aitken College and important to student wellbeing. It aims to provide activity for healthy growth and development and to improve or sustain a student’s level of fitness and skill.
Physical Education is compulsory from Foundation to Year 10 with the option of continued study through VCE. VCE options include Health and Human development Units 1-4, Physical Education Units 1-4 and Vet Sport & recreation Units 1-4. It provides skills through expert instruction to enable the acquisition of knowledge and skills and allows student opportunities to use the skills learnt in class and participate actively in a wide range of sports and recreational activities both as individuals and in groups. Students at Aitken develop a value of physical fitness and a lifelong recreational sport.
