STEM Program

At Aitken College, we are dedicated to fostering a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) among our students. Recognising the vital role STEM plays in shaping our world, we offer a diverse array of STEM subjects, encompassing Sciences, Mathematics, Digital Technology, Food Technology, and Design Technology.

Within our vibrant STEM community, students and teachers alike actively engage in various stimulating activities. From the dynamic contributions of our STEM Ambassadors to the empowering initiatives like EngGirls, Eco Design, and the Precious Plastics Program as well as our specialised Year 5 and 6 STEM program, there is a wealth of opportunities for exploration and innovation.

We extend an invitation to students from Year 6 to 12 to participate in our STEM Ambassadors initiative, empowering them to create and showcase their own STEM activities at our annual STEM fair. Through this platform, we aim to inspire younger students to embrace the exciting world of STEM.

Our EngGirls program for Year 9 and 10 students fosters collaboration and problem-solving as students tackle real-world challenges, while also serving as mentors to primary school students, particularly encouraging young women to pursue careers in engineering.

At Aitken College, we take pride in our commitment to sustainability through initiatives like the Precious Plastic Program, where we transform plastic waste into practical products, and we champion Ecodesign projects, encouraging students to repurpose materials creatively.

We believe in providing ample opportunities for students to immerse themselves in STEM programs, fostering a lifelong passion for discovery and innovation. Join us at Aitken College as we pave the way for the future leaders and innovators in STEM.
